Organizations
You can think of an Organization as a business or any other grouping of shared users & clients. An organization is created by one user, but others users may be invited to share access to the data entered.
Organizations are containers for all saved data – clients, projections, and scenarios.
You can always see which organization you are working in by looking in the bottom left of the interface.
Creating an Organization
Section titled “Creating an Organization”If you want to create a new Organization, you can do it via the Sign Up page.
- “For My Business” editions are Catalyst Pro
- “For Me” editions are Catalyst Plus and Catalyst Personal
Data Sharing
Section titled “Data Sharing”An organization is a container for all clients, projections, and scenarios saved while working within that organization. All data is available to all users who have been invited to that organization.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Organizations have very simple permissions. Admin users have full permissions including inviting other users to the organization. Standard users cannot invite new users, but otherwise can see all client data and tax projections within the organization.
Adding Users
Section titled “Adding Users”- Click your organization name in the bottom left
- Choose Your Subscription
- Click Invite User
- Enter the user’s name, email address, and desired permissions
Removing Users
Section titled “Removing Users”- Click your organization name in the bottom left
- Choose Your Subscription
- Click the trash can icon next to the user’s name and agree to the confirmation prompt.
Removed users will immediately lose access to your organization and all data inside it.
Enterprise Configuration
Section titled “Enterprise Configuration”If you have a more complicated enterprise configuration where different groups of users should share data with other groups, or just have a large number of users to manage, please contact sales about an Enterprise plan. Enterprise plans have special billing and setup, but otherwise follow the Catalyst Pro edition.
Switching Organizations
Section titled “Switching Organizations”Users may be a part of multiple organizations - for example, a CPA may have a Catalyst Pro organization for work and also a Catalyst Plus organization for their personal projections. It is also possible for a user to work among two different Catalyst Pro organizations.
- Click your organization name in the bottom left
- Choose Change Org
- Select Make Active for the organization you wish to switch to.
This option is only available if you are a member of multiple organizations.
